15th september 2015 - Supporting local charities

As a local family business, we are very proud to support local charities and have recently just helped two by providing free Coach travel.

ROHHAD Association based in Balloch recently contacted us for a requirement of Coach travel to STV Glasgow. Lauren Hunter has wrote a song for her little brother who suffers from ROHHAD syndrome and due to perform with fellow singers from Singer Station, Bonhill to help raise awareness.

Transport was required to get all the kids up-to Glasgow and we were more than happy to help, a small contribution for something truly inspiring.

ROHHAD syndrome is a rare syndrome affecting children, causing previously normal healthy children to gain weight and have breathing difficulties, as well as other problems. Almost every child with ROHHAD syndrome is different as they vary in the timing of the onset of symptoms as well as the degree and range of features. As there is no definitive test for ROHHAD syndrome and it is primarily a descriptive syndrome, the diagnosis is challenging and not always considered. It is likely that ROHHAD syndrome is not one single condition, but a collection of similar conditions with different causes which would explain the wide spectrum seen in this syndrome. Due to the unpredictable nature of ROHHAD syndrome and the associated unexpected death, both health professionals and families want to be sure of the diagnosis.

For more information regarding the ROHHAD Association and syndrome, please visit  http://www.rohhadassociation.com

The Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) have recently visited Our Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh for their siblings day and had a great time! Glad we could help out and look forward to seeing you again.

CHAS is the only charity in Scotland that provides vital hospice services for children and young people with life-shortening conditions. They offer care for the whole family in two children’s hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch. They also run a homecare service called CHAS at Home helping families in their own homes across Scotland when they need it most.

For more information regarding CHAS and their important work, please visit: http://www.chas.org.uk
